The Greenbrier Fine Art Week has been bringing remarkable artists from all over the country to paint wild and wonderful West Virginia for years. West Virginia is not on a lot of people’s radar – which is not necessarily a bad thing. We are proud to bring such fine painters, knowing that they are sure to be thoroughly charmed by the landscape and people. The painted record these artists develop is invaluable, describing more than any camera can ever see.
At the request of artists and guests alike, we introduce a change of format for 2015′s Greenbrier Fine Art Week. Rather than a rush to paint on the fly in whatever weather, this year’s invited artists will be visiting The Greenbrier and its surroundings in smaller groups throughout the year, gathering reference material for larger finished work to be exhibited at The Greenbrier in the Chesapeake ballroom along with a few smaller field studies. The Greenbrier Invitational 2015 Exhibition opens Saturday, October 24, 2015.
This year’s participating artists include:
Quang Ho(CO), Scott Christensen(ID), Charles Movalli(MA),
Dale Ratcliff(MA), Kate Starling(UT), John Poon(UT),
TM Nicholas(MA), Roger Dale Brown(TN), Randall Sexton(CA),
Stapleton Kearns(NH), Perry Austin(AL), John Michael Carter(KY),
